I don't know alot about OSU and Umich to compare very much for you. But I can tell you how I feel about Maryland.
The Baltimore area is urban, not as much city like if you were to compare it to NYC. I'm not much of a city person but I have come to like the kinks that is Baltimore -there's fun places to go and GREAT places to eat. Baltimore is close to a lot of other areas including DC (about 45min-1 hour away) and Georgetown, Columbia, Bethesda (that has NIH, Naval Medical Center), Annapolis (1/2 hour). There's always good and bad things about a city - it all depends on where you live. There is always a question about the safety of the Baltimore area and I would say that aside from Baltimore Harbor (the tourist place of Baltimore), the area around the school is the SECOND most safest place in Baltimore.
By being so close to the capital, we have access to a lot more governmental rotations, and possible internships. There's even 4 hospitals w/in a 10 min drive from the school.
Aside from the unique opportunities provided by its location, the school offers a variety of electives that some school's curriculum. We're currently in the process of implementing (starting next year) an even better curriculum that will integrate concepts of all three years so classes are more disease states oriented, than to separate information by different classes and pulling them all together in the third year (ISAT).
By Fall 2010, the construction will be done on our pharmacy hall addition. You can check out the website to see how amazing our addition will be (while I won't be there! sigh!) that will have more lecture halls, labs, etc.
Mmm thats all I can think of right now. Feel free to ask me specific directed questions about the school, I'd be glad to help answer them!
