University of Michigan class size

Ok, I think I missed something along the way. According to the Umich admissions site the 2007 entering class is 315.

This is huge considering that the total school enrollment is 682 (according to us news). Did they drastically increase the size of their medical school?

Sorry if this is common knowledge and I am just out of the loop.

Or is this the number of acceptances they have given??? and they are accounting for some ppl chosing other schools.

target size is 170... they over-accept 315 expecting about half to pick some place else. That's what pretty much all schools do

It is just confusing that they call it their "entering class" when half of them won't enter.
