Does anyone have experience applying to UNC as an out-of-state applicant? I've heard they give preference to in-state students, but their website says "strong out-of-state students, especially those who can contribute to class diversity will be considered." Any insight would be appreciated, the application is pretty lengthy so I'd rather not waste my time if my chances are slim! Thanks!

I plan on applying as an OOS student, but I'm thinking it's a long shot. I don't have much to offer in the way of diversity, and I know their class sizes are small, but this whole process seems so random, I figure why not?
