This is an area of the UT pharmacy school I am particularly passionate about. In a couple interview sessions, I mentioned to some applicants that UT has so many "pharmacy celebrities" as I like to call them; basically, they are really well known in the field or have had really unique experiences. One of our pharmaceutics professors knows anyone and everyone pharmacy related; he's been called on for his expertise for patent hearings, worked all over the pharmaceutical industry. Another one of our professors used to be the chief pharmacist for the army. Another one just got a $2 million NIH grant. Many are current or past presidents of national pharmacy organizations while others are winning awards from those organizations. The best part is they are ALL so accessible, whether you need help in class, or are just interested in what they do.

Of course the students are all talented academically, so its definitely "both" in terms of good professors, but the need to still be academically able, as a student, to keep up with the LOAD of material rather than the material itself. Just being from a program that can boast such awesome professors and faculty is an accomplishment for me.
 
does anybody know how long UTCOP gives you to accept/decline admission?

From last years thread it seems like a few days into spring break if i'm not mistaken.
I've been re-reading last years thread....Goodness, we'll know in less than 24 hours

That is really quick. Seems the other schools give you nearly two weeks. What is the deposit to hold the seat? Texas Tech and A&M are both $500, is it the same for Texas?

It might be two weeks considering thats the time between the ad com meetings

anybody know how many ppl are admitted this friday?

how many ppl are placed on the waitlist and how many ppl decline admission?

does the 125 spots include the students from UT Pan/El Paso?

they send out the notifications around 5 PM and afterwards, but is it in central standard time (i live in the west coast)

Not sure how many applicants get the word tomorrow or how many are from the UTEP program.

The only thing I can confirm is to adjust for central standard time.

Tell me about it, I had two separate dreams that I got an email during school and started crying for joy in the middle of a huge class and that I kept screaming "IS THIS A DREAM!?" and then I'd try hard to wake up..and I would.. lol. AHHH why do I have an exam today at 1!? I'm way too distracted.

Seriously~ I'm on spring break already but I have to pack for a trip in a few hours and I can't get off the computer! My heart rate accelerates every time I get a new email....

Same here I have the tab open and I'm eating lunch in front of the computer- regardless of whatever happens I'm proud of all of us and the fact that we made it this far. 😀
 
I had a dream that the final admissions cut was a video-game like shoot out where all applicants shot each other down until the final 120 were left....i started dreaming midway so I got shot and therefore did not get admitted....I think its my conscience telling me something haha

I haven't been on here in a while but I'm reading through the comments and getting overly nostalgic at how I was here posting back and forth with my current roomate on here months before I even met the guy. You guys are about to enter the greatest 4 years ever and should stay amped all the way through. The summer before the start of pharmacy school was the greatest time of my life up until I started pharmacy school....which then became the greatest haha. I'm actually on here panicking because tonight at 12 midnight is when the residency match list ranking closes...and then it's 12 days of hellish waiting. So i'll be back on here for a while and willing to answer questions so if you guys need anything let me know. UT is a wonderful place to get pharmacy training and the professors we have seriously cannot be topped. I hope you all get what you each truly want.
 
gosh I hope we hear soon. I have been so worried about when I will, or if I will get an email I haven't studied for the test I have tonight...waiting is WAY too distracting!!

Just called and they said partial acceptances will be sent Tuesday, then the committee will meet a second time and all decisions will be made by the end of March.
 
We have to wait until Tuesday?

Chode's not trolling. I just called and confirmed that same bit of unfortunate news. Partial acceptances go out Tuesday with rest after spring break. No info on how they will determine who finds out first.

Hey, thanks for calling. Of course I'd rather know ASAP, but at least I can try to relax and enjoy the weekend..LOL!!

Seat deposits: Tech and A&M are $500, does anyone know what the deposit is for at UT?

what is a "partial acceptance"?
 
Partial meaning the whole class will not be filled
 
Don't they usually fill about half of the seats when they send out the first round of offers??

But Tuesday!!?!?!?!?!

Well I can't imagine that the lady at the COP would say that for no reason but let's hope she's wrong. I'll still check my email in an hour anyway.
 
I really have a hard time believing this whole Tuesday thing 😵 Dr. Wilcox told us himself that it would be both the Friday before and the Friday after Spring break. They also already met Wednesday, meaning they've made all their decisions regarding the first round of acceptances. So why would it be Tuesday and not today? Furthermore, aren't they not working over Spring Break? Weird...Hmm

I totally agree that Tuesday sounds weird. When I called yesterday, she told me that some would be sent out tomorrow (Friday/Today) and some would be sent out Tuesday. It's quite odd.

Wow! Tuesday!! Okay, well I am off to fail a genetics test I have been too nervous to study properly for. Thanks UT! Playing with my emotions :meanie::meanie::meanie:

Offices at UT are still open during Spring Break. I worked last Spring Break.

maybe they've made the decisions but arent going to send them out until Tuesday??? 😵. maybe they just have too much stuff to do this week
 
deposit is 200$. This is not from the COP but by the university itself. Very cheap!!
