What ratio of time do you spend at your military medical center doing:

direct patient care : other crap?

Other crap being, Random Urine Drug Screens at the company, retirement ceremonies, DMHRSi, mandatory fun, peer reviewing charts for stupid JCAHO, trying to get paid for a TDY trip that you took 5 million years ago, among other things.

When I went to Norway, I saw no furry woodland creatures and especially no majestic moose. (I was hoping to carve my initials in it.)

Here we have a young psychologist(?) who has a lot of unnecessary rocks in his pack as a result of b.s. policies and make work initiatives. I think military medicine could do a lot to address retention without raising costs by addressing some of these issues.
