I'm not sure whether this has been brought up...
I jsut checked my application checklist over the uop website, and theres this weird combination of 4 letters...its something like "PHCK"

Does anybody know what that is? 😕

YES IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP AT LEAST TEN TIMES!!

FIRST OF ALL, it's not PHCK, it's PCHK!!

My interview went well, everyone was super nice. My student interviewer seemed more nervous than me. It's pretty laid back.

hey guys dont mean to bother you but i got a question... do you think we should be getting straight a's this quarter since they'll be looking closely to our grades (i know ideally we should), its just that im taking an embryology class which if any of you had taken before, you know its not an easy class. Normally I dont stress much about school grades but this class seems like no matter how hard i study im still doing bad. I got an interview for uop, and im afraid if i get a c in the class this quarter i will for sure be rejected. what do you think, Is there hope for me?

I doubt a C would affect your overall GPA that badly as you have completed a bunch of units so far. As long as you pass the class, I'm sure you will be fine. I got a C in a lab during my last summer school session also.. Whatever equation/system they use to accept students probably puts your overall GPA / pre-pharm GPA without accounting for specific trends. I think it would only raise a red flag if your grades show a significant downward trend.

If you have an interview you should be fine because they let you know 3-4 weeks after your interview if you're accepted into the program. Good luck!

Yes, I just did. Letter dated 10/14 arrived 10/29. A few people did earlier, but I applied after they did.

GL! BUT, I'll say this. My letter was totally postmarked 10/16. It must've been lost in the mail for a while! I'm calling first thing in the morning to set up my interview. I'm really anxious rather than excited at the moment.

Having said that, I don't know if you'll get word from them. It seems like I should've been one of those previous posters who mentioned getting their interview this month. I believe they may do them in monthly batches. Don't be discouraged if you don't hear from them until mid-Nov. GL!

So I have a quick question about that: For the first essay question they stated a minimum of 300 words but how much did you guys write for the second essay (extenuating circumstances and less than 14 quarter units). I wouldn't really consider that an "essay". Just write whatever it takes to tell them what you need to. I wrote just a couple sentences explaining why I had one semester where I only took 13 units.

My friend received an interview even though she turned it in on the last day. She didn't get accepted, but she did get waitlisted. If you want to go to UOP, you don't want to regret not bothering.

Well unless there are rejections. "We will not pursue your application any further." No, those two requirements may not do it. Although, since you can't control your future or the minds of adcoms, you might as well do those two things. Can't think of anything better to do.

what do u mean? u submitted 2 weeks ago and already got your ID number through the mail and there's no dates next to the check list? it took me 4 week before i got the ID number...once i logged in with the ID and my date of birth...the dates were all there.

my friend had a problem where all the dates were blank...he had to call them and correct the problem.

very! this will be the 3rd week from the actual interview date and they mentioned we would hear back 3-4 weeks later.

i'm sure im not the only one who's been counting down the days!

Just so you guys know the interviews are scheduled through to January now. This is true as of the October invites.

technically tomorrow would be exactly 3 weeks from the time of interview,,

and they did say that we could check back with them within 3-4 weeks...

so.... if anybody do call and ask.... please let us know what they say ....

That eagerness isn't very professional. it's easy to be excited with your fellow SDNers, but to actually call the school as if they were incompetent? That's the impression if one does that. Do yourself a favor and don't request something like that and have someone make a professional faux pas.

I wouldn't really say that. I know the lady who's in charge of admissions and she's pretty nice. She wouldn't mind the call. Also, it's not like she has any say in who gets admitted or not.

i called them and they told me .... it was delayed a little bit...

because veronica semler was on jury duty ....

but definitely within the 4-6 week period...

so... the next 2 weeks.... will be : "operation stalk postman" week...
