got into uop. interviewing at ucla next week.

Pros of UOP:
-3 years
-better facilities
-friendlier faculty (from what i've experienced so far)
-great alumni
-in san francisco which is super fun.

Cons of UOP:
-not well known outside the dental/medical community
-not linked to undergrad campus (no college atmosphere)

.........anyone who has some feedback on the topic please let me know. thanks.

I can predict most responses......

If you want to specialize and/or save some $. Go to UCLA

If you want to get out quick and be GP, go to UoP.

It's more complicated then that though. First off, you can specialize from ANY school. Just nail the boards and put your time in rotation and get killer LOR's.

Also, UoP is more expensive but if you count the extra year of income, it's not a huge deal.

Both are awesome schools.

Don't worry about UoP not havinf "street credit" outside the dental community. Who cares? When was the last time anyone asked their dentist where they went to school? It's a non-issue.

Good luck

PDizzle is a smart man. Too bad UCSF hasn't given me any love so I can tell him that in person.
