Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've been on here! I just wanted to give you all an update. I applied a week ago, and have so far heard from 2 schools, Ohio and New York requesting interviews. Do you guys have any advice about interviews? I'm feeling a bit jittery right now since I'm in the middle of my classes, so I feel like everything is just crammed!

Hey!
I also got an interview request from OCPM.
I would also like to know what to expect from the interviews. I only applied last week, and received the invite today! Good luck, and hopefully someone will help us out with some tips.

GOOD JOB to you both!!

I will be applying the next cycle and love the OCPM program. By curiosity what were your GPA's and MCAT scores?

Thanks!

I graduated from WashU with a 2.58 (first 2 years tanked me). As a postbac student after working 2 years in research, I've taken 10 courses and maintained a 4.0. MCAT 30P.

3.3 gpa, MCAT a disappointing 23N...

I hope you know there's an "interview feedback" database under "ARTICLES & INTERVIEWS" at the top of the page for every school. Very useful.

Keep updating us on where you two get interviews, good luck 🙂

Just got another Interview invitation from Scholl and from Temple...
Very nervous. I also retook my MCAT this past Saturday.

congrats. Your MCAT was actually around average as it was, but that's cool that you tried to improve it. Good luck with your interviews!

Advice: look at the interview feedback, relax and most importantly ENJOY the day! Remember to ask questions that might help you narrow it down your choices when you have several acceptances.

I recently received an invitation from Barry. So that is 4 in total. Waiting on DMU. Will definitively tell you guys how they all go. I am pretty nervous/excited. Is it a good thing to get interviews? Do my chances of being accepted go up once I interview? I guess I'm asking all this because I am truly nervous

I got invitations from Barry, CSPM, and Chicago! There is no way I can possibly go interview all of these schools... I have classes and teaching responsibilities. This is a problem; does anyone know which schools historically have the most flexible interview schedules?

Just pick your interview dates in the order of which schools you like the most. Setting interviews more than 30 days apart is a waste of time because your acceptance to the first school will expire within 30 days.

I have also received an interview from Barry scheduled for 2/22/2012. Is anyone else interviewing that day?

YES! Historically, the acceptance rates are very favorable with an interview.

Good Luck!

Thank you guys! I am happy to tell you that I was accepted at Barry University. thanks for all the help and motivation.

Thanks for all of your advice, I got accepted into Barry. I am very excited about it! Does anyone have any recommendations of places to live? I am new to the area and I have no clue. Thanks

Congratulations beansmd! Keep active on the forums 😀

Hi, can I ask what kind of post-bacc you did? I graduated with a microbiology degree atrocious gpa little bit lower than yours, but I did get a 28Q MCAT(not amazing but above avg.)

I took:
Biology 1 and 2
Gen Chem 2
Microbiology
Vertebrate Physiology
Genetics
Bioorganic Chemistry
Biochemistry
With the attached labs...

I think 1-2 good semesters of nothing but upper division science courses would more than show schools you're ready (provided you blow the competition out of the water 😛)
