Update letter for LOR

I just received an LOR from the director of the medical scribe program I'm a part of. I was wondering, do I need to send an update letter to each school I select to receive the LOR? And, do I need to write an individualized letter to each school or can I simply state in the letter that a new LOR has been added to my AMCAS application? This is not a required LOR, by the way. Thanks.

I asked AMCAS about this before and they said you don't need to update the schools. Once you add the LOR to your AMCAS and recertify your application all the schools will see the update in your application file. There's no need to update the schools. I also checked a couple of my school status pages a few days later and the new LOR was reflected. Hope this helps!
