is 1.5-2 pages too long for an update/interest letter (pre interview)? its hard to fit it on one page with all the letter formatting at the top but idk if 2 pages will be a drag to the admissions committee

IMO, 1 page is max.
This is where clear and concise writing is important

There is no "correct" format.
I don't care for them, thus, the shorter, the better!

What about a page and a quarter (including my name/school and addresses and date at the top)? Haha I just have a paragraph at the end to tie the update with the school but if u think that’s still too long, that’s good to know! And I’ll make it a page only

By sending them your application, they know you're interested in the school. You have zero leverage to help you move up the list to interview
