Tufts and Temple are the only two schools that I have not heard back from but that are also still sending out interview invitations. My first update was sent to them in November, and I am thinking about sending a second. I have two questions regarding this, both regarding the timing of this update.

If I were to send this update this week, I would talk about how I am currently in the process of learning Spanish, with a trip to Puerto Rico planned for the summer to help me really immerse myself in the language having the goal of being conversational prior to matriculation in mind (completely new information). I would also talk about how I have begun my first MCAT class teaching for Kaplan (I had mentioned that this class would be starting in my update, so this isn't exactly "new" information).

However, I applied to teach a very selective Summer Intensive MCAT program for Kaplan and should hear back regarding that by the end of February. I would obviously like to include this in my update, but to do so I would have to wait until the last few days of February. This would be a lot closer to the end of the interview season for both these schools, so I am not sure whether waiting until I have heard back regarding this opportunity is a good idea.

My first question then is would it be a good idea to wait to send the update in hopes that I got this job and would be able to add that in the update? I am leaning towards sending an update earlier without this information, because I believe late February is too late for an update. My second question is if I do decide to send the update earlier, would the information described in the second paragraph of this post be a sufficient update? Either way I would include a paragraph about the reasons for my continued interest in the school.
