Hi there. I was accepted to a school about a month ago and I plan on matriculating there this year. Very excited for that, but a bit worried in regards to my AMCAS situation.

The issue I'm having is that I wrote on my AMCAS app that I would be continuing my gap year job until this summer, however, I ended up quitting just because I did not enjoy the company and the work environment was almost toxic. I accepted another position (which is clinically related), but of course the med school I plan on attending does not know that. I am worried that the med school will contact my other job and think something fishy is going on since I left the job that I said I would continue (as written on AMCAS).

Should I update the school on the new job (and also update all other schools I applied to)?

I understand a lot of people quit their jobs/volunteering gigs after being accepted, but in my case it's a pretty large number of hours that I ended up not doing (in exchange for a different job).

Oh FFS no. We don't care.

Absolutely not. They accepted you because they think you'll make a good doctor, not because they think your old job was cool. The only thing such an update would do is make them say, "Ah, dammit! We accepted a nutcase!"

(and also update all other schools I applied to)?
No for two reasons. First, for the reasons I gave above. Second, because you're not planning to matriculate at those schools anyway.

The adcoms have much more important things to worry about right now. Just get yourself ready to start school.
