I'm not sure if this has been asked before, if it has I couldn't find it. Once an application for medical school has been turned in, are you able to update information on it? I'm asking this because I took the MCAT in May. I think I did well enough to get interviews but not well enough to get in. I plan to retake it in August and bump my score up 4-5 points. I planned on submitting my application in July as soon as I get my scores back. Would I be able to change my MCAT score if I did better on the second one?

I think MCAT scores are automatically updated. I'm pretty sure it isn't up to you to decide if you want to submit it.schools will get all Your MCAT scores.

Both scores will be transmitted to schools. Some schools will only consider your highest score and others will average the two. There are also a handful of schools that will take your highest score of each subsection. You'll have to check out each school's website to determine what their policy is.

Hope that helps.

Yup. The scores are automatically updated onto your AMCAS. The only thing you can do is decide if you would like to let schools know if you're doing an MCAT retake, so that they can hold off reviewing your application until your new MCAT score comes in. Either way though, schools will receive all your scores eventually.

Also, you're able to submit your AMCAS now for verification without an MCAT score, so you don't have to wait until July.
