So I have been trying to find the answer on this myself, but haven't succeeded. Let's say I go to pharmcas as soon as I am able and get them to send off my transcripts. After summer II session and fall of 2008, my GPA increases. Do they update this info with the schools I applied for? Or do I need to notify the schools my GPA has increased and send them an unofficial transcript?

Also, if somehow they are notified my GPA increased, maybe a school wasn't interested in me the first time around, but I have a more competetive GPA the second time around. Does that make sense? This has been rolling around in my head the last couple days and couldn't seem to find an answer to this.

Yes, pharmcas has an update period where you can update your grades to reflect your new GPA it is usually sometime in January.

Read this very carefully.

You MUST E-SUBMIT EARLY, if you want to be able to do the Academic Update. It takes 4 weeks for them to process your GPA, so send it in as fast as possible.

So, I'd say that you should E-Submit by the end of September. If I don't get in on the appeal this year, I can safely say that I am prepared for the next cycle. I dominated in my classes this semester. LIU GPA actually dropped from 3.236 to a 3.2 but my PharmCAS GPA rose faster than a 12 year old's penis.

😀

Ok, so can I do it after Summer II session, then do it again after fall semester?

I wouldn't know about a 12 year old's penis.... interesting analogy though....😱

I stole it from the movie "The Departed".

This is when Matt Damon's character was basically getting hired into the Special Investigations Unit.

Captain Queenan(Martin Sheen) - Work hard, you'll rise fast.
Sergeant Dignam(Mark Wahlberg) - Like a 12 year old's dick.

Great movie.

haha. ok. Saw the movie, i remember. My friend actually said that recently about stocks or something he invested in.... Very good movie. Can't wait to see The happening with mark wahlberg.

The first time you submit will be when Pharmcas first opens up in June and then they will allow you to submit again sometime in January when the update period opens.

awesome. guess i could have looked that up on pharmcas. asking on here is so much more fun though.

But lets say that your school has an application deadline of Jan. How can we update our grades in time if pharmca's update period is sometime in Jan? i don't believe it will be updated in time. Does anyone know how long does it take pharmcas to change it once grades are submitted?

You should send in your fall grades as soon as they become available (which I would hope is in the middle of December). PharmCAS does not tell you when academic update is available; it just appears in your online application. Enter your fall grades and send your transcript. That way, the update will be done on time.

The school's deadline is the day that you must e-submit PharmCAS. It doesn't matter if academic update is after that. As long as you have e-submitted your PharmCAS app, you're fine. When academic update rolls around, all you do is update your grades and PharmCAS will send your updated grades to the schools you chose. At least, that is how it was when I applied. WVU had a Dec 1 deadline, and I e-submitted my PharmCAS on Nov. 29. I did academic update in late January.

I actually got an e-mail when academic update was available. I think you got gypped!

Jesus, there are kiddies on this board. 😱 The movie is a great movie though. One of my faves of all time. 😍 I would kill to be Leo's therapist.
