Tried searching but didn't really come up with anything...

Anyway, I worked as a research intern in the trauma department of a local hospital this summer and submitted several abstracts (second author on all of them) to a couple of medical conferences.

The first one I submitted earlier in the summer was recently accepted for a podium presentation at a large east coast surgical conference. I won't be presenting the paper (the doctor I worked with will be), but I was wondering if this was something I should update schools with.

I expect that one or two more abstracts may be accepted to some other conferences (I think they are stronger than the one that has already been accepted), so should I wait to see and update the schools then? or is it even worth updating at all?

What are your thoughts?

I would update them on that.

I'd probably wait and talk about it during interviews or add all of them to an update letter you send out in March/April.

This is probably the way to go. Post-interview updates seem to have a much larger affect than pre-interview ones.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm going to wait and bring it up in interviews.
