Hey everyone,

I go to school on a quarter system (just finished my third year), and spring quarter grades were not available until late june. but following sdn suit, I submitted and had my amcas verified in early june (because I wanted to get it in early and because my grades didn't seem like they were gonna turn out that great). So basically I applied with 8 quarters of grades (versus the 9 that's recommended). My GPA is pretty high, so I figured that they wouldn't really care. Also, I didn't take any pre-med requirements during this past quarter. I received my grades a couple weeks ago and ended up getting a 3.83 during spring quarter--much better than expected--so I'm wondering if it's worth it to update the schools. Granted, my gpa did drop, though not by much.

I'd rather not send them to schools, only because it's such a hassle, but if the lack of a 9th quarter is going to negatively affect me, I'd rather just send it. If I do, how should I forward it to them? Do I just type up my courses and grades on a piece of paper and submit that? or do I need to get my school to submit an official transcript ($5 per transcript for 23 schools)? or can I print out an unofficial transcript online (which is like 4 pages)?

Thanks for the help!

Just send an unofficial one by email to each school. That's what I did for my spring semester grades.

Agree. Eventually, the schools you've interviewed at (and for sure ones you get into) may ask for official copies, but it's overkill to send them all out right away. And you'd just need to send another at the end of the year.

This is great material for an e-mail update. It also gives you an excuse to keep in touch with your 'short list' next January and ~March.

so wait, you don't think I should update them pre-interview?
