Congrats on the UPENN interview. The UPENN interview was a great experience. My interview was a little over an hour, but the range varied from 30 minutes onward. Usually the interview consists of one to one communication. However, I had two interviewers, but normally it is one-2-one.

When is your interview scheduled for? Is UPENN your top choice?

hey sally!

i have interview with UPENN too this Oct 25th too!!!. But I think it's this Friday right?! not Thursday...just to make sure you didn't go one the wrong date 🙂

see you then!

Sally,

Don't worry too much about the interview. U Penn really tries to make you feel comfortable. The interviewers come and get you so you don't have to try to find your away around the school on your own which is nice. The hardest question that I was asked was probably about why I got a D in physics. I don't have an answer to that so I really did not know what to say. Other than that it was very conversational. I interviewed with one of the directors of the research program so we talked about my researcha nd about U Penn's research oppertunities. I actually did not even have to do much talking. My interviewer also showed me around some of the school on the way to his office and answered any questions I had. He ended the interview by saying he would explain away my D and that he felt I was a good candidate for their program so that made me feel really good. I would advise you to just be yourself and find out as much as you can about the school because it is the best time to get your questions answered to see if you really do like the school. It poured while I was up there, I hope it is nicer for you because the campus looked like it would be really cool had it not been rainy.

i interviewed at penn about a month ago. overall it was the nicest interview, everyone was incredibly nice!!! i got most of the traditional questions (why dentistry, why penn...etc), went in for a little over an hour, talked mostly about research! my interviewer read my file really well.. he remembered all these things i wrote on the secondary essays. so dont forget to read those over before u go.

For those of you who interviewed at penn, what do you guys think of the facilities and the patient pool?? I didn't get to see a lot of those since there were doing all these renovations.
Thanks for your input!

The new Schattner center will definately increase patient productivity. I was in philly for 10 days and observed the PENN campus many times. It looked like everyone was pretty busy. However, unfortunately I left a couple of days before the opening of the Schattner center. If accepted to UPENN, I might go down there in the 45 day grace period and check it out again. Philly is so much fun, but so is NOVA, hmm..funn in the sun, or...???
