I just saw this gem of a 'news article' from a locums company.

NY Hospital Cancer Center Upgrades Equipment and Cure Rates

Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY recently spent $1.6 million on an Elektra Infinity machine for its cancer center. The hospital reports that the treatment time has been reduced from five to two weeks and the cure rate has improved from 20 to 90 percent.

There are only 15 of these machines in the state of New York. Do you have experience with this equipment? If so, what do you think of it? Share in our comments section below.

Unless their prior 'linac' was a homeopathic accelerator, I'm somewhat doubtful of this claim. Nevertheless, if you need a new Linac this might 'convince' your partners/hospital administrators to take the plunge. 😀

They may be talking about lung SABR and something got lost in translation....

They decided to treat Hodgkins disease. Only Hodgkins disease...
