It says in the MSAR that they do screen, but on the FAQ's on the supp app it says "All applicants have the opportunity to fill out a secondary"...

yeh they dn't screen which sucks.. i guess the joined the group of let's take more of the poor student's money and tehn we'll reject them..
 
Great...thought maybe they liked my app better than last year.

They do screen after you send in the secondary though. And by screen I mean they send out auto-invites based on your numbers.

Really? I haven't heard of schools doing that; are we talking numbers such as 35+, 3.8+

I'm still trying to decide if it's worth sending it in, my MCAT was 30; thanks for the info.
 
I've heard from at least one faculty member that Pitt likes to see at least 10's across the board on the Beast.
 
but dont forget what their brochure says. they're a different kind of school. they really look at individuals and not just nubmers. :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: yeeeah....

Yes, Pitt sent a slew of invitations all at once the Saturday right after the August MCAT scores came out.

I got one with a high MCAT but low (relative to most successful med school applicants) GPA--see the profile in my signature.
 
do they ONLY grant these automatic, number-based interviews??? Do they not even read pple's applications if they fall below this "cut-off"??
