I submitted my primary in June and was verified in July, most secondaries sent by mid-August. I decided in July to repeat some very old prerequisites at my local university. I did not have a transcript showing these courses when I submitted my primary. Should I upload this through AMP to my various applications, or submit as an update later in the cycle once I have some grades on that transcript and not just in-progress classes? I mentioned in most of my secondaries that I was re-taking those classes and listed them as "in progress" courses in relevant sections that asked for them.

Not sure it matters but I have received neither an II nor an R yet.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

MS1 here

Once you get the grades and if the GPA change is significant, I would reach out to the school(s) by email to notify them that you would like to add the new grades to your file. They might tell you to upload it on the amp portal.

I would err on the side of waiting for an update letter; these should have a significant update to your application; which I guess if the GPA change after getting those grades is drastic you might decide to just write it up in the letter.

But I would wait a bit; especially because you don't have grades on the transcript yet.

Ok thank you! Doubt they'll change my GPA much, it's more to show ADCOMS that I'm seriouss enouhg about this endeavor that I'm retaking these classes. I appreciate the input and will hold off.

We're not going to name schools, but make sure the schools haven't put a cap on the number of uploads. It's possible that AMP will flag your new upload should admissions staff come through your file. There's no guarantee that admissions will adjust your GPA on the school side so what your AMCAS GPA is will be what is most likely used to sort your application unless the admissions office says otherwise. (I say they probably won't because you can imagine how many GPA adjustments they would have to make if they had the ability to.)

Makes sense, I get it. Worried with no II yet this cycle might be DOA anyways so I doubt letting schools know I'm repeating classes from 15 years ago will make that much of a difference anyways. Thanks for the input!
