I'm a psychology major transferring into a UC next year. I plan on fulfilling the required courses for dental school and upper div psych requirements over 3 years (1 upper div psych and 1 pre req each semester).

I'm going to be starting orgo in my first semester after transferring, then bio the next year, and physics the year after that.

My question is, will adcoms not like it that I never took any upper division science courses? (besides biochem as a pre req)

Do non science majors usually take upper div science classes if they're pre dental?

Have you taken General Chemistry I and II? I don't think you can take Organic without doing those first. Check with your school.

I'm not a science major, but I've taken Biochemistry and Microbiology already, and will also take Cell & Molec Biology, A & P, and maybe Biochemistry II. I'm applying this summer. I'm looking into taking Immunology as well. Anything that will prepare me better! Some are lower division classes, but they are very important for dental school.

Many people get in without much science background, and many meet with premed advisers who suggest one takes more upper division classes.

Start working on the sciences and eventually at your own pace, you should be able to take 2 sciences and 2 labs together. I think it's important to take more than 1 together to prepare yourself even better for dental school. The stress is much higher taking 2+ sciences together. When you do just make sure you are ready for it. This way towards the end, you will be able to take few more upper division classes.

Not matter what happens, stay focus and don't give up! Good luck!:xf:
