Originally from NYC and prefer living in urban/suburban vibes. Aiming to match in a competitive surgical specialty in NY, CA, TX

AZCOM
Pros

• Seems more suburban vibe
• appears to have more research opportunities
• Matched multiple people into surgical specialities.
• Rotations can be in AZ or CA

Cons

• High tuition cost 80K a year and COL
• Insanely hot, I am not a fan of the heat
• Would need to move across the country
• Heard 3rd and 4th year, will have to move multiple times as some sites don’t have rotations.

ACOM
Pros

• Much cheaper tuition, ~25K a year and COL
• 3rd year rotations are all in one hospital
• Impressive match list over the years as well
• A little closer to home.
• Appears to have seasons?

Cons

• Seems like a more rural town which would not be something I like.
• Hard to access the town, expensive flights or would have to drive from major airports

Summary: From NYC, looking to do a competitive surgical specialty and match in big city. Between AZCOM and ACOM (would save 100K)
