I am in my last year of undergrad, and i am trying my best to up my math/science GPA (which is currently about 3.55).

This quarter, I took two science courses: Fund of Clinical Research and Intro to Neuroscience.

I ended up getting an A in Clinical Research, and a B in Neuro (one of the most difficult courses next to ochem for me).

Should I take a pass/fail for neuro? Because that A and B will average out and basically keep my math/science GPA at the same spot. Would it be a wise decision?? I had one withdrawal from my last quarter of ochem my 2nd year, but i ended up retaking it and got a B+. I have never taken a pass/fail in any of my courses yet.

Further, neuro is not a pre-pharm prereq (Just a few months ago, I was pre-med, which explains why i enrolled in this course). A "B" is still a very respectable grade, but then again, I don't want to give the wrong impression to the adcom that I was lazy or got a "C" grade just because it says "Pass" for Neuro.

This is urgent! I need to reply back to my professor by tomorrow!!!

Thanks! Your replies will be much appreciated!

So by taking a pass/fail for the Neuro class, you would end up with 1 A, how much would that increase your GPA?? Still about 3.5?? I don't want to be mean, but this really is common sense. It's not that hard to figure it out.

I highly doubt that you get rejected b/c of a B or even a Pass. I'd just keep the B and not even worry about the doubt involved in a Pass grade.

Thank you for the reply (and to my previous posts as well). I think I'm just getting way too worked right now. Taking the letter grade makes much more sense.

Take the B - it is not going to lower your GPA, and getting rid of it would only raise it a tiny bit. A B looks better than a P, I would think.

are you serious, i got in with a 3.1 science GPA, I really think you will be fine
