I am wondering who is currently using US to guide procedures?

Also, I am a co-author on a recently published article about using US for Piriformis injections and would like some feedback.

Smith, J, Hurdle, MF, Locketz, AJ, Wisniewski, SJ, Ultrasound-Guided Piriformis Injection: Technique Description and Verification. Arch Phys Med Rehabil. 2006 Dec;87(12):1664-7.

US is not very useful for most pain physicians. We do not typically engage in peripheral nerve blocks or plexus blocks for any long term use, and US has so many technical limitations regarding spinal procedures that it is useless. US is not inexpensive, is not reimbursable as a component of pain procedures although may be in the future, and has technical visualization issues that typically limit one to peripheral nerves or plexus anesthesia.
