I found this interactive graph discussing health care spending and I thought I would share. My question about this though is.. Physician and Clinical Services make up about 24% of spending according to this graph. Does anyone know how much of this is spent on the primary care sector in the US and how this differs from other countries? What part of this pertains to primary care physician payments?

I believe that primary care makes up 5-6% of all health care spending meaning that it accounts for ~20-25% of physician and clinical services. I base that on a paper that called for a doubling to 10-12% of health care financing for primary care. Health Affairs May 2010 vol. 29 no. 5 pp.806-810
