I'm a US foreign med student and next year I'm going to be doing electives to get us clinical experience and LORs.
I'm not sure if I should ask for an LOR right after the elective and use a 2-3 year old letter during the match, or if i should wait until the year I'll apply for the match and ask the physician I was with for an LOR (though by then I'm sure he would have forgotten about me).

Maybe ask for a letter during the rotation, as then you'll have a copy that you can get back to them in 2-3 years if you really want them to 'refresh' it.

Otherwise... you're going to be a blur.
