Does this matter to anyone? asking as a medical student applying into anesthesiology next cycle. Probably don't want to be in academic medicine but would like to keep that door open.

What type of step scores to get into these top programs? 245-250 range sufficient?

It's pretty well known the training at cornell is very sub-par compared to the placement on this ranking.

What does it take to get into a top tier Anesthesia program? Really good LORs?

Doesn't matter if you go to #3 or #10 unless you want to end up in a particular city or fellowship that one program has advantages over the other at. Go to a top 20 program and you're set.

This then makes me wonder how exactly do you get on this list? I am curious how Oregon is ranked #20 out of >150 Anesthesiology programs DO/MD combined?

Not to put down Oregon because I didn't go there I was just interested in how USNews do their rankings.
