2 H2 + 02 -> 2H20 is an example of a ________ rxn

a) combusion
b) double displacement
c) synthesis
d) decomposition

isn't this synthesis? The explanation is that all rxns w/ O2 can be viewed as combustion, can someone confirm this?

Combustion RXNS: When a compound containing carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen is burned in the
presence of excess oxygen, the products are carbon dioxide and water.

By Definition: The products of a combustion RXN are CO2 and H2O.

the study guide says it's a combustion, wtf? Like you said, I don't see any CO2 products nor any carbon containing compounds, the explanation given by the study guide seems sketchy

the pcat will have numerous tricky questions, so you better know your concepts very well and all the exception to the rules. i am sure they will be covered.

ya, think about it. you're burning hydrogen gas! it makes sense!

I've got a related question, my HS teacher told me that all combustion rxns with Carbons will have scoot/C as a product. Yet if you were to burn say glucose, you would get scoot aka C ???
