I'm probably gonna be loaded up on coffee and I'm always drinking lots of water. In otherwords I'll have to piss like every half hour.. Nobody is going to pin me down in my seat are they?

What if i stuff cheat sheets in my pants. That would be smart, huh.

haha... yea man, i don't think that they will let you leave until the 10 min breaks or the lunch break. that sucks i know.

but as far as drinking water, i don't think they allow that in the test room anyway

from my understanding, you're allowed to go to the bathroom, but you have to give your test to the proctor, and this generally wastes a good 5-10 minutes doing so.

personally, i would try and go light on the coffee. it can work for and against you considering on how one can hold their caffeine.

I usually finish VR and BS early, so if I finish early and I need to pee they'll let me go, right? Actually, a few times when I took practice tests I had to go during VR or during the writing sample, and it's a big waste of time. It's really annoying, too, because if you don't go then you can't concentrate but if you go you lose time!

Firstly, If you ddrink coffee, you shouldn't drink water. thats when you bladder will be continuously full. drink only coffee no water, you ll be able to hold it longer, since the rate of formation of urine would be comparatively lower.

If there's no option at all, you might want to depend on "Depends". Anything for the big day I gueess...

you can leave during the test, but usually there are proctors in the hall, and i've heard there can even be proctors in the bathroom. (there weren't where i took the exam) you do have to give your exam to the proctor in the room, and you will waste a lot of time. drink your coffee but don't overdo it. also, USE THE time BEFORE the test (when everyone's signing in), and the breaks between sections to PEE! do it every break if you have to! much better than feeling that full bladder halfway through PS! good luck!!! you'll do great!

Don't drink coffee. I know Kaplan et al tell you to drink things like gatorade because they're isotonic to body fluids, but that doesn't have caffeine in it! If you don't care about calories try sobe or if you do, sugar free red bull. In my experience both give you the same effect as coffee but don't have you running to the bathroom as often. Plus, they far more thirst quenching than coffee.

I'll probably try to lay off the coffee unless I dont get a good nights sleep or something. (Probably for psychological benefit only but if it helps, it helps). I've never tried the red bull or any of that stuff before a test so I have to stay off that. God knows what could happen. And Yeah, I'm definitely going to try to time it so I dont have to go during VR or writing. If it doesn't work out, I'll be the guy in the back sitting in a puddle, so if you see me say hello, I'll be kind of depressed at the time.

And finally, I wish you all good luck but let's just get this crap over with already. This is the stupidest thing I have ever had to study for (not the end result of med school, just the test itself) and I have studied for some stupid stuff I tell you.

do what i'm doing, bring a set of depends, and you can drink and eat whatever you want. change in the middle of the exam and really distract people, that would be hilarious. pulling out your diaper in the middle of the PS section, lol.

Anything with an appreciable amount of caffeine will increase urinary frequency: BP goes up, GFR goes up and you need to go to the bathroom.

If you normally drink caffeinated beverages, drink it at least an hour before you need to sit down. By the time your bodies realizes you're getting rid of too much water, the ADH will kick in and you won't have to go any longer...

yes they let you use the bathroom and it does waste precious time. do NOT drink a lot, it will kill you. i ended up with a UTI that day and it cost me lots of time running to the bathroom. i almost cancelled my score

and make sure you are first out of the room during breaks or you'll have to wait on line to pee. and it is impossible to concentrate on a test with a full bladder
