Hello,

I'm planning on writing the USMLE Step I sometime at the end of 2009, and I know I can write it in either Melbourne or Sydney. What I can't seem to find is what time of the year I can write the exam in - ideally I'd like to write it sometime between October and December, 2009 (right at the end of year 2). Does anyone have any rough idea if the exam is being offered at this time by Prometric, in Melbourne?

Bump!

I have attempted to call Prometric at (02) 9640 5899 to ask them my question, as outline above, but each time I call I just get refereed to a switch board which requires an extension number. Once I even got the American Express international switchboard (???).

I'm finding this very frustrating because AirCanada has some pretty cheap flights home, and I want to book my flight from Syd to Van, but I need to know when I'm able to write Step 1 first.

Any help? Does anyone have a number where you can ACTUALLY contact Prometric in Aus?

Why don't you write the exam in Canada? Cheaper too.

I would actually recommend spending some vacation time doing some hardcore studying before you take the exam, as opposed to taking it right at the end of 2nd year.

Ya..take the USMLE in Vancouver or Seattle...more options but I wouldn't want to take it with jet lag.
