usmle step 1

i'm a canadian med student interested in writing the USMLE...from what I have read on the USMLE website the exam is given on computer....does anyone know if you can take the exam anytime you want? or is there only a specific date that the usmle is given?

Check out the USMLE Bulletin for more info. Do you want to WRITE the exam or TAKE the exam? If you're writing questions, I guess you're a good person to know...

The expression to "write" an exam is very much a canadian expression for taking an exam. As a canadian studying the US, I got a lot of ribbing for that.
