I just got back my Step 2 CK score today and retransmitted my USMLE transcript. Might be a dumb question, but does my CK score appear on my USMLE transcript automatically on the day I receive my score report, or is there a time delay before the score is posted on the USMLE transcript? I don't want programs to receive another transcript without my CK score, but there is no way for me to tell what's on the transcript (as there is no option for me to view it). Thanks! 🙂

I wanted to double check to make sure I did things correctly. I requested to retransmit my transcript this week- do schools get a notification that I have new information on my application, or will they only see the score if they choose to download my application again? Will they see the scores when they download Dean's letters next week?

Also, do I have to do anything other than selecting "retransmit scores?" ERAS shows no sign that I re-sent my scores, so I wanted to make sure.

Programs will download your transcript the next time they request new documents from ERAS. It will be flagged as an updated USMLE transcript and printed if needed. Your new scores will be instantly active in the software (if someone is sorting by USMLE score, for example). There is nothing for you to do, although I think you can track via MyERAS when programs actually download your USMLE scores again (not sure about that).

Thanks! I did submit it and could see a couple days later that the programs had downloaded my scores again (in case anyone has the same question)

Sorry to bump the thread. I just got my scores today and retransmitted. Do I need to email programs at this stage to inform them of the new score in hopes of garnering some new interviews? Thanks!

Similar to Pontifex, I want to make sure schools are aware of the new scores as I need some more interviews. I'm a gambler so I had ERAS set to autosend updated scores. Is there anything to do? My COMLEX PE score has been available for some time and I can't find any schools that have redownloaded my COMLEX transcript. I NEED them to see this USMLE Step 2CK score, though.

On edit: Looks like I only have my USMLE score sent to autosend. Time to wait and see if it is downloaded. Should I retransmit my average comlex score and passing PE score? Some programs might want to see that I am ready to go for next year with no DO licensing issues to deal with..

I'm bumping this because, what if its the reverse, like you don't want programs to know you took step 2? How does that work...I did great on step 1, but would like to ability to not report step 2 if it doesn't go so hot...

Are you a current 3rd year who hasn't taken step 2 yet? If that is the case, then make sure you take step 2CK at a date where you will not get your score back BEFORE you submit ERAS/USMLE transcript (which is generally around Sept 1st... then make sure you DO NOT set it to automatically transmit when you get a new score... then you don't have to ever let the programs know you took it (unless they require the score, but then you only have to let them know if you want them to rank you, but who would want that?)

Yes that is the case...I'm currently scheduled to take Step 2 midway through August, and I imagine it will go fine, but I figured now is the time to find out how that works while I am in the midst of scheduling stuff. Thanks!

So if I take step 2 midway through August, submit my eras on Sept 1 withouth the automatic retransmission, the programs will never know that I took it? (unless they ask me of course).

yup... there is an option on the ERAS for step 2 scores, but you can just put nothing or say don't know when taking them
