Is there any interview feedback posted this year? I'm looking for interview feedback and possible questions for USN. Can someone please tell me if it is available this year and how to get to it?

Thank you so much eelo. I really appreciate it.

Hey, when is your interview??

They do not care about your interview feedback, unless, of course, you would tell that you are entering pharmacy to have an access to the illicit drugs or to kill those disgusting people with the red hair who induce voices in your head.
They are in an industrial park for a good reason: they are a startup in the business of making money by all legitimate means.
All they care about is your money (your ability to pay it, that is) and your GPA (the prediction of your ability to succeed in taking NAPLEX). To maintain their school reputation, they have to have about 99% of NAPLEX passing rate.
Your interview is a pure formality. Do not worry about it.

What are you talking about?
It sounds like that is what you are looking for and you're pissed that cant find it...
Wake up man. Grow up...

My interview was on feb 5th. They asked:
*why pharmacy
*define compassion and give example from my personal life
*how would you handle an irritated customer that wants his vicodin filled, but the refill is too soon
*what other schools I applied and why
*sth about motivating a lazy person

Yeah, my interview lasted over 30 minutes, but they were very friendly, they tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible.
Just be yourself and you should be fine.

The only thing that you are correct about is that USN's NAPLEX scores are one of the highest in the nation, and that is thanks to their students, their hard work, and the block system.
If you look at other private schools (Western, Midwestern, Creighton and others) you will see that their NAPLEX scores arent as good...
but better than most state run colleges.

😀
USN was founded by Dr. Rosenberg, who prior to that founded Western University in Pomona. Then, there was a power struggle at Western, and Dr. Rosenberg had to move. He relocated to Nevada, and got an idea that he could make good money by establishment of the first Nevada pharmacy school. He and his wife assembled $15K, rented a building and started a school. The school is a private enterprise of Dr. Rosenberg & Co. that, as any capitalist enterprise, exists to make profit and to enrich its shareholders.
I think, USN would prepare you for NAPLEX much better than a research institution, such as UCSF, because Dr. Rosenberg & Co. have their vested interests in it: this is how their business success is defined. But if we are talking about why USN was founded and why does it exist, it's precisely for that: making money. It's natural, why are you so much surprised about it ?

I'm attending a very different kind of institution, UCSF, but I have a good inside source at USN.

It is not exactly correct. USN has the last year passing rate of 99%, UOP-100%, UCSF - 100%, Western - 98%... They are all in the same ballpark.
But at USN or Western you would probably have to do much less work preparing for NAPLEX than at UCSC, because these private schools are very NAPLEX oriented and train you specifically for that. Treat them as extended Kaplan test preparation outfits.

All I know is that most private schools are doing a great job preparing their students to be good pharmacists in a shorter time than state schools.
Overall it doesn't matter which school you graduate from, it is up to you to be a successful pharmacist who knows what he/she is doing, the schools are just giving you all of the tools, and you decide whether to use them or not. So stop categorizing based on what you heard somewhere, or what your friend's friend said to you or your imaginary friend.

You sound as a person with short temper who has a vested, I suggest monetary, interest in USN.
You do not sound at all as a prospective student trying to evaluate school options. It does not reflect well on the reputation of USN, the school you represent.

Oh, indeed, Pharmcista has no posts other than promoting USN. It is such a pity that USN uses trolls for self-promotion. It does not befit a truly successful school at all, yet it very well matches the pattern of a commercial startup located in some business park with the retailer's warehouses right by it.:hardy:

All I want is to be accepted to this school, for many reasons that important to me. I live in Vegas so and I didnt apply to any other schools, OK.
You can write whatever you want, I dont really care, it wont change my opinion.

PS. I bet you were rejected from USN, or dropped out. Good luck to you, really...
I dont know how you can live with such anger inside.

And you have no posts other than bashing USN.
My intentions are clear: I want to get in.
What are yours??? 😕

Does telling that USN is a commercial enterprise constitute bashing it ?
Does telling that USN would prepare you for NAPLEX better than UCSF precisely because of the commercial interests constitute bashing it ?
Are you in your right mind ?
Does telling people not to worry about the interview formalities but worry about their GPA constitute bashing USN ?

BTW, is there any other school but USN that your are trying to get in ?
If not, then why not ? Is it because a couple of years old school in Henderson, NV is the best institution in the world ?

Indeed, you are not trying to get in, you are already "in", you are a USN employee/affiliate with shares in that startup. I hate shills.

According to the USN website they are registered with the IRS as a Non-Profit institution.

:hardy:
From Wikipedia:

"A primary difference between a nonprofit and a for-profit corporation is that a nonprofit does not issue stock or pay dividends, (for example, The Code of the Commonwealth of Virginia includes the Non-Stock Corporation Act that is used to incorporate nonprofit entities) and may not enrich its directors. However, like for-profit corporations, nonprofits may still have employees and can compensate their directors within reasonable bounds."

That's all the distinctions, folks. As long as you do not issue public stock, pay dividients (that most corporations don't do anyway), and do not give the stock options to the members of your Board of Directors, you are a so-called "non-profit" and do not pay federal and state income taxes. You just distribute money by other ways: private equity shares, salaries, bonuses...

Look at those obscenely rich pastors of megachurches: their churches are all non-profits...tax scam...
:hardy:

😱 I... rejected by USN ? Dropped out ? Are you... OK ?
I'm on PharmD/PhD program at UCSF, the best pharm. school in the world, with all the expenses paid by a fellowship, doing research concentrated on prions. Gods, how could you imagine that I'd apply to or study at place like USN!
But you did make me truly angry. I was discussing comparative advantages and the business models of private pharm. schools. Instead of giving constructive objections to whatever you disliked in my statements, you started rude ad hominem attacks, suggestive of your affiliation with USN. As I told you before, I hate shills.
:meanie:

ZOG,
you are so shallow...
I am not going to lower myself to your level.

by a deep shill Pharmacysta.
🙄That shill has no other arguments.:hardy:

From Wikipedia:
"A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims. Shills are often employed by confidence artists."

:laugh:It is the exact description of our darling Pharmacysta!

Based on the title, it appears the intent of this thread is to discuss feedback based on interviews at USN. If you want a thread to discuss a reasonable, pharmacy related topic (such as the usefulness/effectiveness of private vs public institutions), post a new thread. As always if you can't avoid getting personal, avoid posting.
