I just received a call from Dr. DeYoung today saying that I got accepted to the Utah campus.....Aaahhhhhh!!!!😱😱😱😱😱. I am so excited! I was so nervous when I got a voice message from him. I was literally shaking when I talked to him. OMG!

I will still remain waitlist for the Nevada campus though because it's closer to home for me. Good Luck to everyone who is still waiting. My waiting period is over, finally. Sigh! I hope to see everyone in August. 😍

I did not have choice but got a spot at South Jordan.

He called from an unknown number....I was in class and couldn't take his call, after I got out, I received a voicemail from him. Once I heard he said "This is Dr. DeYoung...", I was screaming outloud. He called both my house and my cell number. 🙂

That sux the south jordan school isnt accreditied yet-- doest anyone know when there first graduating year will be???

Dr.DeYoung told me that I was on top ten for south jordan and 30 for henderson.

And about the accreditation status of Henderson and South Jordan

Hmm..thats weird because i emailed dr deyoung and he told me that the south jordan campus isnt accredited yet. In order for a school to become accredited they must first have at least one graduating class. In the answer above it says see ACPE website and when i looked that up the only accredited school in utah is the university of utah, it doesnt say anything about USN in south jordan. I would email dr deyoung or call him-- i also have an intern that is going to the south jordan campus and he also told me that the south jordan campus is not yet accredited. If you find anything new let me know-

I think you're a bit confused about the accreditation status for USN. USN have two campuses, but they are still under one accreditation which means that both are accredited. The staff was saying that both schools follow the same curriculum and nothing's different between them except for the location. That's what they talked about during our orientation.

Dr.DeYoung didn't tell me anything about where I was on the waitlist. Except for the email that says i'm on the top 25 for utah and top 50 for henderson. And the waitlist letter that says i'm top 50.

Ya this is starting to make sense with the two different campuses, i emailed a person from ACPE and they said the acreditation extents to both campus so yay!!!!! Thats a relief😀-- Oh and congrat on getting in hopefully he will start making lots more calls 🙂. Sorry about the mix up.

I emailed Dr. DeYoung asking about my position on the waitlist and he said that I'm top 20 for the Utah campus but he doesn't know my exact position until after june 1st. He said that I had one prerequisite that I said I was taking this spring and if I get an 'A' in that course, my position will go up.

And it's an unknown call eh? This is so pathetic, but everytime my phone rings, my heart just jumps and I wish it was something good... ugh...

I had received a call from Dr. Deyoung too.

Do you know when we expect to have admission packet? Since I was outside to receive his call, it was not clear. When is the deadline to reply acceptance?
I am waiting for mail, still have not gotten it yet.

hope2pharm, DIOVAN HCT, aswa - thank you! And I hope to get into the Henderson campus as well... I can't imagine living in Utah because I know I will get a culture shock as I am from California... but most importantly, at least I'm in...

Hey me planning to do my calculus prereq in the fall ,if I am accepted.....do u Think Dr.Deyoung would accept this?
 
last time i checked you had to have your pre-req done by aug. if you've been accepted. If you don't finish your pre-req before start of school (in aug).....you lose your place. However, you should always call the school to verify.

Congrats cameroonboy! Are you accepted for the Nevada campus or the Utah campus?

I was wondering for those who are accepted to the Utah campus but are on the waiting list for the Nevada campus, when will you start to look for housing because I'm not sure if I'll really get into the Nevada campus. And any rooms for rent near the Utah campus or anyone want to roommate and look for an apartment together? Preferably females please.

I did not hear anything
but Dr.Deyoung said Top 15 last month....
 
dr deyoug told me you are facing 40 students in waitlist .so i ask him what are the chances of mine to get in. he said previous year we didnt went that much far so i dont have much hope.

morover he said we are not authorize to accept international student in the utah campus so you have to be waitlisted in Nevada campus.

so i believe i have no hope. so goodby everybody.

Don'g give up, There must be hope that your dream can be realized. there are still hopes that you can get in, last year, many of students got into during July.

hey hiiiii....hey me 2 in the same situation ya i have 50 students in front of me for utah campus and 65 for the nevada campus..........donno wats going on .So Dr.Deyoung said we almost have no chances?Me really depressed yeah......cant imagine beging rejected....

I am hoping to get in to Henderson but chances are slim...
this is what Dr.D said today...

"No candidate has declined an offer of admission within the last four weeks, which is atypically low during this time of year."

That sucks! I guess that more people are going to attend USN this year. But last year, a lot of people got accepted on Aug. 1st (from last year forum), so don't loose hope yet people. We still have a chance, but let's look it this way, we got in. Everyone keep your hopes up! 🙂

I understand thta by this time, many people on waitlist should have gotten into.

Seems like that every year, it is getting harder to get into pharm schools.

I would definitely say that it's getting harder and harder to get into pharmacy school each year. First, the number of applicants increase. Second, the schools are getting more competitive, they increase the pre-req every year and so on. And from what I heard, majority of people who got accepted this year was a re-applicant. So hang in there.

I emailed Dr.DeYoung a week ago about the waitlist and so far, no-one seem to have dropped out yet. It seems as though a lot of people want to go to USN this year. Good Luck!🙂

Yes, for sure more people wants to go to USN this year....
I contacted Dr.D I moved up only 3 places for last 2 months...(For Henderson)

I am going to S.J. campus for sure now...

Guys I just talked to Dr DeYoung, he says they are still accepting students from wait list.. and they will do so until the last week before school starts.. hope this helps..
