i'm sure you're kidding. Early someone said something about "like 50 calls" That would mean that more than 75% of those that interviewed between the two days in September would get in. That would be sweet

If the overall acceptance rate is ~60% then it might not be that unreasonable of an estimate (assuming significantly higher rate of acceptance for early interviewees).

just wondering...maybe for those of you who interviewed a few yrs back...should those of us who interviewed on oct 2 reasonably be expecting a response tomorrow, or not until nov 1 ?

anyone get hear anything yet? Its about 11am CST

I did. It was an e-mail saying I DO NOT meet the height and weight requirements. I guess I have to go get taped after all.

an email from USUHS saying that you didn't meet requirements???? I don't think USUHS cares about physical attributes at this point, right? they just grant you a 'conditional' acceptance anyway.

man, you guys are gonna go crazy being this neurotic! do something to take your mind of things . . . .it'll make the time go by faster. play some Guitar Hero

i'm sure you'll be fine whtlight. I barely made blood pressure qualification and am still waiting to hear that i need to have remedial tests run. Freaking 138/88 at 22 yrs old. I guess thats what happens when you dont work out for 6 months, have the worst possible diet, work 3 jobs, and apply to medical school all at the same time. I'm sure you'll be fine on getting taped. Put it off for a week or so and hit the gym. You said you were 6'3, 218 right? you cant be that far out of range

IM IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I just have to get taped. Got the call about 5 minutes ago. I am sure others will be posting soon with their good news.

Congrats!!!! That is awesome news. You must be thrilled. Are you on the East Coast?

just a side note about the height weight thing....you need to meet the most stringent height/weight standard (Army) rather than the particular branch which you are applying for to get medically qualified. I guess ill just do the tape test considering i have my physical in an hour. I guess it wont matter at all if i never get a phone call though =0

whtlight did you interview on the 25th or on the first set of interview dates?

The silence on this thread makes me think that they're just notifying the 9/18 people today... oh well. Maybe now I will actually get some work done.

I'M IN!!. Interviewed the 25th. US Army. Wow I'm stoked

I'm in TN. So not east coast but not midwest or west coast either. Freaking, who needs to study some more for a graduate school advanced organic chemistry midterm this afternoon? maybe i will, pause, not

And look, if i'm in, i'm sure a lot of you are in. My college GPA was mediocre at best, my MCAT score was solid, but by no means great, and my extracurriculars were probably about average. So keep the phones close by I'll bet a lot of you will be getting calls in the next couple of hours.

Ha, well that's a nice perk. Just don't fail. 😀 Are you going to attend USU for sure or do you have another 1st choice?

provided i get unconditionally accepted i'm going to go. Its definitely my first choice, but I dont want to withdrawal all my other applications until I'm in unconditionally accepted.

Awesome to see some acceptances today. I still haven't heard back yet, but you bet my heart is racing right now!:scared:

That's awesome. Yeah, definitely don't withdraw them... it would be fun to see how they all turn out anyway. You paid the money so you might as well see what happens.

When did you interview? Being on this website sure doesn't help with the anxiety, lol.

What were they...if you dont mind me asking?

3.46, 31R. I was a 4yr varsity swimmer (and i joined the army); captain senior year; headed a program in a local ER to get pre-med students working in the ER to help doctors increase turnover, did some shadowing and some research.

So i mean, no 3.9, 37T here.

Interviewed the 25th and got the acceptance call at 2 ET for Army, it looks like they didn't start calling til mid afternoon so I'm sure there are still lots of calls to go out today

Hooah, I got my acceptance call around 2 pm EST. Army (since I'm already in ROTC). Interviewed on 25-Sep. Will probably end up going to USUHS even though I've applied and gotten accepted to a couple other schools. Can't wait. Good luck to those still waiting.

Congrats you guys... that's great news! Lots of Army people are doing well... no air force acceptances yet?

I applied USAF and haven't heard back yet, maybe only Army today? Not hearing back by now probably means I got rejected, oh well.

Yeah, I also applied for the USAF and haven't heard yet...

Well if its only Army today, looks like I got passed over..that blows

No news is good news, right? lol
On a more serious note, they did say it would take 4-6 weeks to notify those who interviewed in Sept. and we just hit the 4 week mark.

I don't think so. If you take a look at last year's thread there were people who didn't hear for quite a while (like October interview with January acceptance). Hang in there.

Eh, still I'm going to dread going to the mailbox every day for fear of the thin letter.

So if we haven't heard anything yet today, does that mean we will have to wait patiently for tomorrow? I am pretty anxious and excited to hear back. I interviewed on the 25th, chose Air Force and can't wait to know if I made it or not!

Good luck everyone!

I also interviewed on 9/25 and chose the air force so I definitely feel your pain. According to the info at the interview, they only call to offer conditional acceptances on the 1st and 15th of the month... so unless they are making an exception for the early interviewees, I think we'll be waiting for November 1st. Good luck to you too... hope we both make it.

Fair enough. I don't blame you. My interview is next Thursday and I'm just trying to stay positive. 😎

Awesome, good luck to you. I think you'll be impressed with the campus and students... if you have any q's about the interview day, I'll try to help.

Ouch, November 1st? And I thought waiting for today was hard. That bites.

So you were at the 9/25 interview and are from California too. Awesome. Best of luck to you friend. Are you in the military or a non-prior?

yep, nothing like the pain of anticipation. ok.......so Nov 1 is a Saturday. so..........we get called on a Sat...or the Fri before...or the Monday after..haha wow my goal is just to not think about USUHS for another 2 weeks or so.

Yeah, the waiting is going to suck. I hope they just had so many calls to make that they couldn't finish them all in one day and will get back to it tomorrow... I was pretty chill about the whole thing until today, now I'm kind of freaking out unfortunately.

I'm non prior. You? I also chose AF... ha, we have a lot in common. I hope it works out for you as well.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am sorry for not responding earlier but I had to take an exam this afternoon. I am pretty sure things will work out. It's not like I am a blob. I am running the Detroit marathon this weekend so maybe I will do it after that. By the way my BP was about the same as yours (I drink a lot of coffee) and I am qualified other thann weight.

Congratulations to everyone else who got accepted. Good luck to everyone else that is still waiting (especially Goose since I specifically remember you being USN).

hey thanks for the shout-out! Yeah, i interviewed on the 2nd with airforcedukie, so i wasnt too surprised we didnt hear anything today.....im actually driving my friend to the marathon on sunday - small world....maybe ill see you there

Congrats to ya'll with acceptances in hand already, pretty sweet deal! Enjoy the next 3/4 of a year!

So I'm interviewing Nov 6th for sure, so maybe I'll see some of you all there! Just a quick question to anyone who may know: is getting an IM residency at Madigan through the Army fairly straight forward? I hear that their residency program was somewhat in need of people, so if you do well in med school you can probably match there if you so desire.

Also, i'm 5'11''/180, do I have to tape? (I'm thinking I do...) If so, should I kick up the running right now???

Any ppl who selected Army as their top choice and interviewed on Sept. 18/25th still waiting to hear back?

you wont need to tape. youre well within the height weight standard.
