UTHSCSA vs. Texas Tech
any thoughts?
Torn between both

UTHSCSA
pros:
-highly ranked/established
-school is known for graduating very competent dentists

cons:
-highly rigorous, competitive among classmates
-harsh faculty, very little camaderie

Texas tech
pros:
-small class size
-early clinical exposure

cons:
-no graduating class yet (don’t know type of dentists school will produce)
-very little analog dentistry

I have heard horror stories about uthscsa on reddit, and El Paso seems to have a lot more relaxed students due to it being p/f. At the end of the day though, both schools will produce excellent dentists, it's more of a matter of how stressed you want to be lol.

which one is cheaper?
which one is closer to family/friends?
which one is closer to where you want to practice in the future?

I’m about to graduate from UTHSCSA, and I disagree that we have “very little camaraderie.” I’ve loved my past four years of dental school and go out and have fun with classmates all the time. I’ve met some of the kindest people and several lifelong friends.
