Cons:
Family reasons I cannot go into detail about but basically better employment for husband in California. Although he is willing to go anywhere I want, I don’t want to be selfish.
UC Irvine:
Pros:
prime LC program plus financial award (90% chance of acceptance)
Strong program
Cons:
Cost of living
I really don’t know how much of a difference it is going to one over the other if I want to match into a competitive residency. I don’t think you can really know the culture until you start, but I’ve heard that the culture is very toxic at UTSW compared to the chill vibes at UCI.
