Just signed up for USMLE World and am trying small blocks of questions, with all of the subject sections and subsections checked. However, for some reason that I can't figure out, they are ONLY giving me Histology and Embryology questions. Again, I clicked on all subjects so I have no idea why theyre only giving me dumb histo and embryo? Is it because I'm just doing blocks of 3 questoins? Also, is there any sort of first aid page references with UWorld? Thank you so much, I really appreciate the help!

Yeah, if you are only doing clusters of 3 questions the algorithm that randomly selects the questions isn't very random. If you are looking for specific types of questions I suggest just picking that block. I usually do my studying that way. For example I try to focus on path for one block and nock out all those questions together so I don't have to keep jumping books.

I honestly think the Uworld explanations are not that good and they don't come with reference pages from review books. Sometimes they will send you to a specific research paper but they are too time consuming to read.

USMLERX actually shows you the text from the sections in first aid and Kaplan shows you the reference page from medessentials with first aid page numbers also listed for reference.

Good luck I hope this answered your question.

Also, its better if you do atleast 10 questions at a time.

Although in the interest of full disclosure, several times I've gone down to the USMLE Rx first aid page and it is completely irrelevant and does not answer the question.

Hell, sometimes Rx doesn't even answer the question in the explanation, just rambles about tangentially related stuff I already knew but didn't help answer the question.

God I hate Rx.

I'm about 600 questions into Rx and have yet to have this happen. How many questions have you done?

I've observed it about ten times so far, but I'd say it's fairly rare for me to bother looking down at the first aid sheet below the explanation, so when I do look it's because not only did I miss the question, but I don't understand the explanation.

And then for the first aid reference to not answer the question at that point, well, that's a little infuriating. I'm about 80% done at this point, trying to grind out the last few and then do UWorld until July.
