Go to the selecting applicants for interview tab. It looks like GHHS will give you a bigger boost than AOA.
Anecdotal:
In my experience, GHHS is a nice little addition but not having it won’t hurt. AOA (contrary to the above survey) is more heavily discussed in my residency program during interviews at least. There’s a check box on our note sheets “AOA: YES or NO.”
Again not having it won’t hurt (some schools don’t have it or have gotten rid of it for various reasons, some political that I don’t care to discuss). But having it means more to us than the survey suggests.

Congratulations! GHHS was more difficult to get than AOA at my school. AOA was almost 16% of our class and GHHS was around 12%. GHHS is not a popularity contest as many people mentioned on Sdn in past posts.
LOL, it’s a popularity contest, it’s literally engrained in the process. Difficulty doesn’t equal merit.
A medical student literally asked me to nominate them to be in GHHS so yeah, I don't put much stock into it .....

Yea, there is the nomination-by-your-peers element that can be viewed as a popularity contest. However, school-specific secondary process that includes the selection committee's review of your clerkship evaluations, records of community services, and interviews with faculty and current GHHS members that make up the final decision is where it isn't a popularity contest. It is school specific and was the reason I said "at my school."
Specialty and/or program dependent, but residency programs may look at everything, including your MCAT and undergrad college transcript. Program residenct ranking process is often by scoring each candidate. You want to be near the top. While not a defining factor alone, GHHS can enhance your application. Hell, I was an Eagle Scout in high school and it came up on a number of my residency interviews regarding leadership aspects.
Edit: forgot to mention that at my T5 program, residents have a track record of AOA and/or GHHS.

The real question you have to ask if what’s the difference if any between a GHHS resident vs not…the difference, I suspect, is null. There is a study I know that showed PD do not put much stock into it, AOA is different.
