Too bad they are not through Pass

I doubt that'll matter - with a stipend like that and 26 month duration they'll eventually get a bazillion applications. I would apply even though they aren't in the match, and I refused to apply to any non-match schools when I went through the process. The November 2012 starting date is a little crazy and abrupt though.

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center-Postgraduate Orthodontics Residency will interview to accept 3 new residents with a tentative starting date of November 5, 2012.
The application deadline is September 14, 2012.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a few select applicants. Just think of how many applicants will not be able to comply with this timeline. All 4th year dental students are going to have to wait until May 2013 to graduate. They can't just get out of school 6 months early. Most people in the military have a summer EOS. They can't just get out of the military 6 months early. This timeline only works for someone who has his own practice or is working for someone and can drop everything at once, highly limiting the competition. It must be great to be in that group.
