What would be the vant hoff factor for a ionic compound that is not soluble in water ie AgCl or like Mg(OH)2? I read somewhere online that AgCl will have a vant hoff factor of zero. does that mean that AgCl will have no effect on freezing and boiling point and thus the BP and MP would remain the same of 100 and 0?? Or would it be one....and you would go on to solve it as if it was a non-electrolyte?
