Hey dental students, I need help. Here are the facts:
I've been living in VA forever. I can't imagine spending the rest of my life here. I was accepted to VCU (sub-280k cost) but want to practice in CA, preferably San Francisco. I interviewed at UCSF (~350k cost) and am waiting for a decision. I plan to do a GPR. There are different licensing exams for VA (NERB) and CA (WREB). I hear about saturation of dentists in SF. Median dentist salaries in SF and VA are both $150k. Cost of attendance (I'm poor) and future residency are the biggest factors in deciding where to attend dental school.
Is it worth saving money by attending VCU or worth attending UCSF for 4 years to gain connections and knowledge of the area? Attend VCU for 4 years and 1 year GPR at UCSF? What's the best way to transition to SF?
