Still waiting on Northern Illinois...blah. I'm happy that I got into Wake Forest's masters, but everything is on hold until NIU opts to let me in or not. Still, my mind is turning at both options since I ony have a short amount of time left. If I ultimately get rejected, my decision is made for me. However, if I get in...I have to decide if I want to go for the Ph.D. program or master's program. If you asked me this months ago, it would seem a no-brainer--go for the Ph.D. Yet Wake is putting up a good offer for a master's program--full scholarship and a TA stipend. To add to matters, my advisor is suggesting that I consider WFU since it is a well-known school that will "help me if I want to get an academic job". I'm not a 100% sure if I want an academic job, and the prospect of having to apply again in a few years with my masters degree (of which the credits may or may not transfer) is not overwhelmingly appealing. I suppose I will come to that hurdle when I get there, but my mind is trying to jump ahead since I will have maybe 24 hours to decide if I do get in.
Ugh...this is mind-numbing.
