So I have heard that some schools look more closely at the verbal section than any other section of the MCAT (supposed to correlate with how well you will do on the boards). Is this true or is it just a bunch of crap? 😀

I've heard this many times before as well, but I would expect that a number of people will respond with one answer or the other.
Either way, ignore any type of statistical bullsh1t, and just prepare yourself as best as possible. You decide your future, so do whatever it takes to accomplish the goals you have.
I did horrendous on my verbal so I called up CCOM and Rosalind Franklin (IL schools). Both of them mentioned how the low verbal is ok if science scores are high in MCAT and GPA.
I dont know what that means. Maybe some schools dont care all that much as we think about the verbal?

i would think that a school would pay attention to any section you do well in over the ones you bombed. for instance if you score a 10 or over on any section while your other sections are below a 10 that one great score will compensate over the sections you didnt do so well on.

I would like it to be true, but I doubt that it is.
If you look at the mean scores, VR is almost ALWAYS the lowest of the 3 for most US Allopathic schools. I haven't seen how the Osteopathic schools separate out the section scores, though...
