Once verified, can I go back and update my application e.g. add additional volunteer hours? Or would this require that I verify again before sending the application to a school?

Thanks

Once verified, you should not add or update anything on the primary unless it is requested of you via the school or via your own sound judgment if you think it is worth updating each and every school about the update.

If these additional volunteer hours really help your application then I would wait before submitting. Once you get the hours you are looking for then submit the app.

I disagree. You can definitely update your application on AACOMAS. Schools get your newest application downloaded to their system every week.

How do you know this?

They tell you and we've been through the process.

I believe it's Tuesday or Wednesday when the revision is sent out and each school has a specific day they download and print out the applications.

Don't change things unless it's substantial. Save the extra 20-50 hours of volunteering you did for an update letter.

Good to know as I have some major things coming up this summer and I'm submitting my application soon.

An update letter is a powerful tool when used correctly. That is why I recommend going that route rather than just updating your original application.

Yea I'm only applying to 4 schools so an update would be easy for me to do. Thanks for the advice!

An update letter can be powerful if not abused, too many send too many. Can't believe a committee would have time to read half the stuff

While we're on the topic, could you all please share the dos and don'ts of update letters? When is an appropriate time to send an update letter, what kind of info is most important to include in it, and would it literally be a printed letter that is addressed to the Deans of Admissions?

Thank you in advance!

An update letter would be good if you haven't gotten an II 4-6 weeks after being COMPLETE. NOT after sending in your secondary. Sometimes it can take the admissions staff 2-3 weeks just to have you marked complete after the secondary. This is a very busy part of the cycle so you don't want to bother them too much.

Include stuff like grades, continued interest in their program, any involvement in ECs. There are tons of examples on MDApps and you can Google for them. There are a few threads on here with examples.

Ask the admissions staff where it should be sent. Some schools are very transparent about what they want you to do.
