Verification times for primaries have shortened in the past year?

I noticed that most topics notify applicants that it will most likely take ~5-6 weeks for verification once the application has been submitted mid-July.
But considering last year's verification dates, and the developing trend from this year, it seems that it now takes less time for a primary to become verified.

(example, people who applied in mid-august last year were verified in about 3 weeks)

I was wondering if this observation was somewhat valid, and that applicants maybe able to expect the same this year...
