If anyone is anxious about lab work, should they still pursue pharmacy? Or is it as a matter of practice and one does not have to feel the pressure of dealing with life and death matters should a mistake be made? How much opportunity is there for jobs besides retail/community and hospital pharmacy? For example, research or business.
Thanks!
Retail & hospital make up over 99% of jobs for PharmD's. Get a PhD if you want to do research

Looks like I get to post this again. This is a breakdown of where the jobs really are. Go into pharmacy only if you want to practice pharmacy.

We make life and death decisions every day in pharmacy. If you don't want to do that, don't be a pharmacist.

seriously - if you can't handle life and death - you should not look at medical professions. I know many people may not realize it, but a mistake - regardless of if you are in retail or hospital - has the potential to be life and limb threatening. If you can't handle that, find a different job.

Yeah, thanks for your thoughts. some medical professions deal more directly with life and death than others. I can be interested in a subject but whether I pursue it or not may depend on specific skills that I have
