hi
I heard you can get your license in mexico and practice in the US. Is this true?
is it easier to get into mexican schools?

There's only one accredited veterinary school in Mexico, so I doubt it's easier. I assume the issue of licensing and practicing in the US would be the same it is for any other foreign veterinary school graduate.

It seems like you're much more interested in either pharma or human medical school, though. Why the sudden change?

I am not interested in vet school at this time, I was just curious.
However, I may be interested in vet school. I LOVE vets. I was not aware of how biased I am until a couple of months ago. I had this classmate who I didnt like because i thought he was a preMD. Then, as soon as I found out he is studying to be a vet, and that he works at an animal clinic, I fell in love with him (not in a gay way, but you know what i mean). Every day when I went to class, I could not wait to go and talk to him about what he did at this job.

or...when I see a picture of people in white coats, I hate them because they are doctors. but if on the bottom it says they are vets, I have a 180 degree change in opinion and love them.

or...this one time, they were showing on tv a man and a dog falling off a cliff. I was worried about the dog but not about the man.

are these signs that i should become a vet?

you seem to loath white coats and doctors- perhaps any field that involves either of these things is not for you?...

:whoa:

(P.S. Why are you pre-med if you hate doctors?)

:whoa:

(P.S. Why are you pre-med if you hate doctors?)

i am not - starting today, I am pre-pharm

i dont hate doctors - I hate fake people, and I feel that 99% of doctors are fake. all the preMds that i have met are fake. "I like to help people" ya right, if you like to help people, why dont you pull out all your money from your bank account and help the teenage girls who sell their bodies to barely survive?
I feel that vets are ...whats the opposite of fake? genuine? thats why i like them.

so ya, my future wife will be either a vet tech or a vet.

pre-judging and generalizing people based on their profession is an unfortunate way to view others

there are studies out there that suggest in general, people trust veterinarians much more than human medical doctors (now imagine the most difficult client you've ever dealt with ill and you're the human doc :-O) for what it's worth-has to do with ethics and trustworthiness apparently

dont forget that veterinary medicine typically involves medicine, people, and animals. just because you feel sorry for the dog who fell off the cliff and not the man, doesn't mean that you might not be dealing with the man if he brings the dog to you for treatment. i think a lot of people overlook the human side of veterinary medicine (which can be sidestepped by going into a field that doesn't deal much with clients, but you still have to work with other doctors and your colleagues usually)

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

oh wait, I just noticed you are a future vet. so no worries.

wwaaaiiit a minute- if you're on here searching for your future wife, then you might want to try "MailOrderVetBrides.com", more likely to find something there. 👍

man. I go pack my kitchen for a couple hours and this is what happens?

lol

Speak for yourself. Some of us vet ladies like hockey players. Yes, an NHL husband should be adequate to pay off my student debt, get me a nice house and support my horse habit. 😛

Oh don't worry. The doctor was just in reference to this thread. There are quite a few other careers with rich, attractive men who would suit me just fine 😉

I laughed - and agreed whole heartedly! Who doesn't love hockey players?!?!?

Pffft you guys. Careers are for losers. I just want to marry into Old Money. I was thinking that other English prince might work.

"that other english prince"????? HELLO. His name is Harry. and he's MINE. back off.

Doctors and all that stuff is nice, but mine just works at horse shows. Hahaha. He used to be a bull rider though . . .

Whoa, dream big! I was just gonna marry Darren Criss from Glee (and the Harry Potter Musical!), despite the fact that he's 3 years younger than me (but for him, I'd totally be a cougar). Also, he could probably pay for my entire 4 years of schooling with what he makes in like a week.

I just started one, just to see if I can keep it up all through undergrad. Seeing as I am just starting college this fall, there is not really anything interesting on there yet.. lol

I like how you write and the way you think about certain things. At least with what I read so far hahaha

Engineers, psychologists, princes are ok, but I want a guy who is handy and isn't afraid to get dirty...started working on him already, lol: (hope I attached the photo correctly)

Aahhh, I just came on SDN to try to forget about the Canucks' horrible losses in Boston! I am so nervous for Friday when the Bruins play the Canucks in Vancouver...

But ya, I'd be down for a nice handsome NHL husband! 😉

I know it doesn't really have anything to do with the threat - well, all the possible bf stuff doesn't either so whatever hahahaha

But what is so bad about Banfield? I don't really know anything about it..

The only celebrity I've ever had a crush on is Mike Rowe!

MARSALA!!!!!! thats sooooo sweet! hahahaha was that an episode- did he have to clean explosive diarrhea?

And come on moosenanny... thats it?! He's the 'only' celeb crush (is he really considered a celeb? lol).... EVER? like- ever ever?

 Yeah, I'm normally too overly logical to waste my time on celeb crushes. I normally don't crush on someone unless I know their personality really well, and he is so funny and real-seeming on tv, that I feel like I could like him in real life.

Yeah he's totally cool- i'd tap that. lol.

I guess I don't really 'crush' on celebs like a true crush..... thats just pointless, as you explained. More fun to crush on real guys! 😀 wooo free drinks! lol.
