Hi all, first time poster here! 🙂
I am wondering if there is anyone who knows more about/has gone through either the Master's or Online Graduate Certification program at University of Florida. I'm currently a junior undergrad (just finished soph year), and am beginning to consider schools/paths I want to go down. I really like UF's curriculum and feel, but have also had an interest in forensics my entire life. I recently found out that Veterinary Forensic Science is actually becoming a thing, and noticed the two programs offered at UF.
I guess my question is, has anyone gone through these before and feel it has helped/not helped them in any way? I am wondering if I could quite possibly do this while in vet school, after vet school, or before vet school (maybe as a back-up plan if I don't get in). I have a not above average cGPA (est. 3.44 after this semester's grades) and am starting to think about if I don't get in, I should consider something still in my field, but open to the possibility of not being a veterinarian. That being said, would having a Master's in this field WITHOUT a DVM be of any advantage to me/where I would want to work?
Yes, I do have a strong shelter medicine interest as well. I've volunteered at 2 (still volunteering at one) and have done an internship in a shelter/sanctuary's clinic for a month. I know what it's about for the most part, as much as I can know as an undergrad, and am just wondering if it's worth it.
Thanks everyone, being a forever lurker has been great! 🙂
