Just took advantage of the sale on the PS4 gold for $250. Bought Final Fantasy XV, World of Final Fantasy, and Tales of Berseria. Any other pressing suggestions for similar types of games? I hate sports games and shooters, so DON'T EVEN.

Consider gamefly unless you like physical copies. It saved me a bunch on games I thought I'd like, but ended up hating. I feel like you've played most rpgs out there to recommend more.

But good luck playing a game like destiny, world of warcraft, fallout, or the witcher.

I was able to complete 100% of The Witcher 3 (literally every single main and side quest and map marker in the base game and DLCs) during medical school. Granted it took about 15 months of it being the only game I played, but I pulled it off lol. Seriously though, it's very possible to do well in medical school and still game heavily. Though this will sound braggadocious, literally just to show you how possible it is: I got just under 250 on Step 1, just finished likely Honoring all my clinical rotations, have been happily married since before medical school to a non-gamer, in good enough shape to lift with the ortho bois, and have 100%'d Witcher 3, played the vast majority of Dragon Age Inquisition and Fallout 4, 100%'d the new Doom, 100% undetected non-lethal runs of Deus Ex Mankind Divided and Dishonored 2, finished 7 playthroughs of Dark Souls 1, have put a huge chunk in Breath of the Wild, and played a solid amount of online shooter and sports games, all while getting at least 7 hours of sleep nightly. You can do it, you just have to git gud.

You missed my earlier posts. Already beat persona 5 on PS3.

Whoops...I guess the only game left is COD...lol

You should try horizon zero dawn...

You ask if there is time to play video games? honestly not so much, but I still do it. Sometimes nothing better than playing wargame of rome total war (BUT THEY TAKE UP SO MUCH TIME!). Also, classic throwbacks are also rare yet still existent occasions (Heroes 3!).

Nier Automata, Witcher 2/3 , final fantasy 9 if you haven't played it

A lot of people 🙁 , it's my favorite game ever though. Have you ever played the KH games, it seems cheesy cause of the Disney characters but it's a great series

Of course I have; this is America, isn't it?

How do you do it bra? Honestly that seems like a lot of time in video games when you have that much going on. I've figured out how to make my workouts much shorter which keeps me in shape, but if I game its tough for me to stop.

Same here. Used to be 3k, recently dropped to 2.6k 🙁

To answer OP's question, yes you do have time but it will likely be more erratic than it once was for you. It's all about priorities and what you deem important -- if you would rather go out to the bar with your boys at every opportunity you get then you might not have time. But if you would rather plow through a few hours of the Witcher than go out and get wasted, then you will surely find time to play. Balance in all things!

I played games pretty regularly through medical school and residency, and even now as an attending.

One other thought which is somewhat unrelated: if you play any competitive online game, your ego needs to get comfortable with getting completely destroyed by kids less than half your age who do nothing but play all day long. It's a bizarre paradox for me going from being in charge at work with people taking orders from me, to playing a game and getting yelled at by teenagers online who are on my team while getting my ass handed to me by prepubescent kids on the opposing team.

Nice mmr you scum

Currently working through TP. The last Zelda game I played was OOT. In comparison, it's AMAZING.
It's the best also super long, how far in are you. A lot of people say wind waker is better though I might try that out soon

Windwaker was definitely my favorite! I really liked twighlight princess as well. I have yet to play majoras mask though, and ive heard nothing but amazing things about breath of the wild and im itching for winter break to have some free time to buy it and binge play it lol

Legend of Zelda is probably my favorite series of games ever [emoji110]️ link is my dude

I love link too, all the links are great . That series is up there for me too . I might try to emulate breath of the wild through CEMU since I have no Wii U or Switch

Ok I'll message you when I test it out myself in a few days but there's a subReddit r/cemu that talks about it . This is 4K gameplay with a gtx 970 it also crashes every so often, people say it's rare but I'd save state a lot if I were you. They're saying it doesn't run as well on AMD cards but run pretty great on nvidia ones. There's also a pretty good 3ds emulator called Citra if you wanna try that out , I'm playing Pokémon moon on it rn at 60fps upscaled graphics but not all games are as optimized like Dream Drop Distance is ok but has stutter issues sometimes

People say it's very playable and have already beaten it on version 1.6, 1.8 apparently fixes a lot of the issues , and 1.9 will be releasing in a few weeks

I used to quite a bit M1-4. Precipitously trailed off intern year. Now I hardly ever play and couldn't even get interested to keep going. Tried playing COD Black Ops 2 over a vacation week. Meh. Last 30 minutes tops. Maybe once residency is over I'll get back into it, but not holding out a lot of hope for that. Just a different phase in my life now.

I played a lot of COD/Madden/FIFA during M3 and 4. I try turning on the PlayStation today and I just find it boring.

I did have a really really slow night call during PG3 where I got thru all of Zelda: Link's Awakening for Game Boy (browser portal) in a single night. In hindsight I should have just slept.

played mmorpgs and fallout 3 in ms1-2 but had to stop at STEP crunch time. Did hit my MS1-2 grades a bit though, maybe lowered my STEP 1 score, I don't know. Stay away if you're gunning for a ROADs thing.
So easy to play in MS4 though! 😀

This is a fun free game that helped my grades:
you can learn how to play here:

Absolutely. As an Attending, believe it or not there's even less time. You have meetings, paperwork, family, etc. That 12 hour shift becomes 13-14 hours.

But I absolutely agree with the Total War series and Civilization games. Because you can step away if you need to any time, or do some of your busywork with the game going in the background. I do miss Call of Duty though, but just too hard to keep playing enough to headshot those 14 year olds with ADD.
